Description
This is a specialty coffee from one of our import partners. Like many organizations across the coffee supply chain, they have seen business slow to a crawl in the wake of Covid-19. We’ve brought in a handful of their coffees for you and will be shipping them out of our facility with the same goal in mind: to bring some needed relief via great coffee.

Notes
The region of Embu is located in the South Eastern foothills of Mount Kenya, the highest mountain in the country and second highest in Africa after Kilimanjaro. Cool air and fertile, volcanic soil allow the region to produce some of the country's most excellent coffee.

These coffee cherries are selectively picked by ripeness before being hand-sorted and then pulped using a traditional 3-disc pulper. The coffee is then dry fermented for 12-36 hours depending on ambient conditions, after which it is thoroughly washed with clean water in grading channels to remove the remaining fruity mucilage. The coffee is then dried in the sun on raised beds for an average of 14 days, after which it is rested prior to hulling.
